Getting into the swing of things

Well we are getting into the groove of our new schedules!
Jonas and Tom are out of the house by 7:10 and Tinzley and I get to lazily follow them.  We are usually out of the house by 7:45 and some mornings we will milk those extra min in bed!  :)
Jonas gets dropped off at school every morning by Tom.  Tinzley and I head to school together and sometimes pick up Grandma on the way.
It is sad sometimes to not have Jonas with us but we are getting used to it!  Tinzley will sometimes ask where Jonas is and I think that is sweet!
Tinzley and I get to school around 8:30 and she either heads to the gym or plays in my room or Grandma's room.
My schedule has changed from working 3 days a week to 5 days a week.  It has been adjustment but not bad.  I dont have to work any extended care hours so that is nice to be able to leave everyday at 1:15.  My class this year has definitely been a challenge at times but hopefully we are making progress and getting into the swing of our routine!
Jonas is doing so well at school!  He loves PE, and riding the bus!  He also loves the classroom management system and gets so excited to tell us each day that he lands on a 3,4, or 5.  He is waiting to get to a super six so he can get a trip to Steak and Shake as his reward from mom and dad!
TInzley and I get home around 2 just in time for her to go down for her much needed nap!  I get to rest for about an hour until i have to walk up to the bus stop to pick up Jonas.  He usually comes eats a snack and has rest time too.  He hates it but it is so necessary still.  By 7:30 the kid is wiped!  He has started getting homework this past week which has been interesting.  He has a little math question everyday and every Monday he gets a poem that we have to go over throughout the week.  It is not hard but he doesnt love it and I have a hard time not getting to intense that he needs to know ALL of it the first time we read it.  Haha

We also have soccer practice every Monday and I am coaching Tinzl;ey's team.  She had her first game today (pics to follow) and she did okay.  NOt terrible (no crying) but not great (didnt really participate).  Tinzley also is starting dance this week at school.  She will have ballet and tap every wed afternoon from 1-2.
I have bible study every Tues night and Tom has prayer group 1 tues a month.  He also has some friends that he likes to get together with and play guitar.  It is a busy schedule but everyone seems to be adjusting well to it.
I am also in the process of training for my third half marathon so that keeps me busy as well!

I hope to get some pics up here soon of all of the happenings we have been up to!

First Day of School

 First day of Kindergarten
 Mrs. Johnson, Jonas' Kindergarten Teacher
Tried to recreate last years picture
Tinzley's first day of 3K  8/13/2012

Jonas had his first day of big school today!  He was excited and did great!  It was a long way to school with all the busy traffic trying to get there too!  We walked him in today because they recommended it and he did great!  We found his room and his teacher and he just walked right in (after a picture of course)  I did not fare so well!  The second he walked in there I shed a few tears!  I just lost it.  It was so scary to just let him go and not know what he would be doing ALL day.
He had such a great day and said he likes school but it is too long!  haha
This kid also got to ride the bus which he LOVED!  I greeted him at the bus stop and he was ALL smiles! Whew what a day!

Kindergarten?!?!?!

This kid is starting Kindergarten on Monday!

Summer is over... :(

So I have missed SO much on here because we have been SO busy!!!
I worked two jobs this summer, we went to the beach for a week, and then went to the northeast for 10 days camping and walking and all kinds of adventures!

We left on Friday July 21 for our first night of camping in North Carolina!  We got there in the drizzle and had some help from our neighbors on the campsite.  Got the tent set up and dinner started!  We went to bed with dear all around us and woke up to dear all around us!  I woke up and made pancakes and bacon on the griddle!  I LOVED cooking breakfast every morning over the fire!  It just was such a new and fun experience and the kids LOVED camping.  Everything about it!
We got packed up and headed to Washington DC.  We arrived at our campsite around 5 in some pretty strong rain... No fun to set up a tent in!  We got set up, got dinner and got settled for the night!  We had a big day of walking ahead of us!
We woke up, ate breakfast and headed down to the bus stop.  We rode the bus to the train station.. yes train station, was Jonas excited?, and rode the train into Washington DC.   We had two excited kiddos! We headed over to the air and space museum first, then to the Washington Monument, down to the Lincoln Memorial, then headed to the National Museums of American History and Natural History.  We caught our train back to our bus stop and got back to our campsite in time for dinner!  I had a LONG day of walking and did not feel so great after our train ride and may have thrown up in the train station.. haha!
The kids got to play in the campground pool and then we headed to the tent to sleep off the LONG day!
We got up the next morning and ran a little late getting to the train station and we missed our Capitol building tour!  We were SO disappointed but got to see the outside of it and walk around the sites of the Capitol.  We got in the car and headed to Connecticut.  On our way to Connecticut we stopped in Hoboken NJ at Carlos Bakery!  We had to wait around an hour but the cannolis and lobster tails were totally worth it!!
We left the bakery and headed through the Lincoln Tunnel to Connecticut!  We got there and headed to bed pretty quickly.  We had another LONG day of walking ahead of us!
We woke up, ate breakfast and headed into New York City!  Parked at the Lincoln Center, headed over to Central Park, ate a big pretzel from a street vendor, went to FAO Schwarz, headed down 5th avenue, took the subway to Times Square, got Tinzley's pic taken with Hello Kitty (haha), ate lunch at a New York deli, took the subway down to Staten Island Ferry.  Took the ferry to the island and back, and rode passed the Statue of LIberty, then headed down to Ground Zero then headed home!  Whew it was a BIG day!
The next day we woke up and headed to Boston.  We went to the Quincy Market and went to the Boston Harbor, and ate in the North End at a yummy Italian restarurant!  Boston was quick but such a neat experience to have!  We camped in Boston, headed to Harvard the next day.  After Harvard we then headed up to Vermont for Wendy and Dwayne's wedding!  We got to our hotel, that was a little sketchy, and showered and headed over to the rehearsal!  Ate dinner afterwards and got to visit and talk with Tom's family!  The next morning we ate at the skinny pancake and then walked around downtown Montpelier!  I LOVED montpelier!  We headed back to the hotel and got ready for the wedding!
The wedding was great and the reception was SO much fun!  We had so much fun visiting and celebrating with the Phifers!
After the wedding we got some rest because it was time to head home the next day!
The stops were not done yet... We stopped in Hershey PA and camped there that night and then headed home that SUnday!  WHEW!  It was a whirlwind of a trip but so many memories, so many places visited!
I will post pics soon!  (Tom has the laptop with the pics on it :) ) hehe

Beach vacation!

We had the best week at the beach! Perfect weather, perfect company, perfect food!!
Day one.
We left our house around 10 and headed in a caravan of 4 cars to the beach. We stopped to eat around 1 and all got to finally see everyone! We were headed to the beach with my mom, my aunt Nola, my cousin Rachel her husband Ed and their two sweet boys, my cousin Mitch and my cousin Tina her husband Kevin and their 4 kiddos! 17 in all!!!
We were headed to alligator alley before we got to the beach and the kids loved it! We got to see them feed the alligators and we got to do a little feeding ourselves! We left alligator alley around 5 and got back on the road for the beach. We had a new passenger with manny joining us and tinzley rode with grandma! It was so much fun to listen to manny and Jonas discuss the sights! We stopped at a farmers market and the grocery store before arriving to the plantation around 7! It was a long day but such a good way to start a great week!
We ate pizza got unpacked and settled in for the night!

To be continued. Hopefully with some pics!

Dr check ups!

We had our yearly check ups on Wednesday! The kids did so great! They had so much fun peeing in a cup, getting weighed and measured and getting stickers from the doctor! Something new this time was getting their blood pressure! It was so funny watching their little arms get squeezed and their reactions! Something we did not like was the dreaded finger prick! Jonas cried and tinzley did fine... Until she realized Jonas was crying! So silly!!
Here are the facts:
Jonas 43 pounds(50%)
45 inches tall
Tinzley 28 pounds (20%)
35 inches tall

Struggles of every mother

Let me say this... I LOVE my kids... MOST of the time ;)
So summer is in session and my kids are driving me NUTS!  They are fighting, whining, complaining, asking for this and that all day long.  I cook for them, clean up after them, take them to the pool, take them to the library, make snacks, get them drinks...and it never seems like enough!  Jonas has developed a major attitude where he does not listen and Tinzley has definitely hit the fit throwing threes as they are known in our house!  I feel like I am going crazy sometimes.  I feel like nothing i do is good enough and that I am not being heard.
I have just been having a rough couple of weeks.  I am coming down really hard on myself and I am getting the feeling my kids are picking up on it.  Kids seems to know when you are not yourself or when something is up and they either are sweet to you or they seem to find the things that get under your skin and make you even more crazy!  My children seem to be doing the second one.  I am trying to be patient, I am trying to read my bible more, I am trying to take time to relax...  I feel satan winning sometimes.  After the past year and a half I just get the feeling like satan is there and when he is not and he is circling right now.
School ending was suppose to help me relax to give me time with the kids, to get pool time, to get scrapbooking done, to have time to read and focus on cooking, and saving money, all the stuff that gets put off because work gets in the way.
So I dont know what I am trying to say or prove but I guess I am trying to figure out what is going on with me and writing it out was something that I had not tried.
I feel like I am having out of body experiences... I get around a group of people that I dont know or I am not completely comfortable with and I clam up.  I have nothing to say, nothing I want to say, I just want to move out of there and be somewhere else.  I have never been a person that doesnt know what to say or a person who feels uncomfortable in those types of situations.  I get the overwhelming feeling of needing to be home, needing to be alone, feeling uncomfortable.  I dont know who to talk to or what to even say.  I dont feel like there is anyone out there who will understand or know what I am going through.
I just feel like everything I have done and been through has made me feel like I am half a person.  I dont like talking about all of the hurt, the pain, and the uncomfortable things I feel because I dont want pity, I dont want people to try to understand what I am going through because no one should have to feel this way, or go through this.  I just keep hoping something positive will come out of it and God is not done with me yet.  I hope He knows how much I am trying and how much I truly want to make this life work.  I want to do all that I am suppose to, and to live the life He wants for me.

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend we headed over to Pontotoc Mississippi to visit our good friends, The Mills Family!  It is always a good time!  We got there Friday night and the house was in full swing.  The kids were instantly playing, laughing, and having so much fun!   We got to bed around 11 or 12!
On Saturday we all headed over to Tupelo to watch Judith play in a soccer tournament!  It was so much fun to watch her play and to hang out with everyone outside!  It also was SOOO hot!!  We were all sweating and hot but still enjoyed being together.  Judith's team ended up losing thier first game and winning the second!  We headed over to their house that afternoon and played lots of games including kickball... I am not a fan of that game at all but did better as an adult than I ever did as a kid!  We had so much fun singing and dancing to Just Dance 3!
On Sunday we got up and headed over to church, ate lunch and did some more singing, dancing, playing, and puzzle building!
Thanks so much to Judy for being an incredible HOST!  :)

Happy Memorial Day!
